Moving the Arm in Sitting

This lesson is done in sitting, either on the floor in side sitting,  or simply on a chair if the floor is too challenging.

On the floor, you will be asked to sit with one leg bent forward and the other leg bent backwards. Which arm can you lift more easily off the floor? you’ll explore moving the arm in various directions, involving the pelvis and hip joints to make the turning and lifting easier. The muscles of the lower back will be gently activated so that your height will increase.

If you choose to sit on the floor, please remind yourself that this is not an exercise class but a lesson in which you have the opportunity to improve abilities and comfort, provided [!] you work gently, give yourself rests and let yourself feel instead of trying to do well. If you can keep that level of connection with your comfort, you will not regret the experience!
