Nice to meet you
Lena Rosenberg
Lena Rosenberg has been a certified Feldenkrais practitioner since 2010, following four years of rigorous studies in Italy, Israel and Australia. Israeli-born, Europe-educated and now a long-time resident of Melbourne, Australia – Lena connects with students all over the world through her distinctive life-changing practice.
Before dedicating her career to the Feldenkrais Method, Lena spent time in Southern Central Italy completing her Bachelor of Arts in languages and literature and eventually moving to Turin to get her Masters in Simultaneous Interpretation where she graduated with Honours.
Lena’s rich and diverse background, living and studying in various parts of the world, provided her the insight, purview and empathy to not only connect with people from all different backgrounds but also the desire to put her affinity for the Feldenkrais Method front and centre to assist others with their conditions.
Known for her deep intuition, sense of empathy, patience and selfless generosity, Lena is a gifted Feldenkrais instructor who has assisted numerous students over the years, of all ages, with issues such as chronic pain, strokes, autism, depression as well as dancers, athletes and musicians with physical injuries or desire to improve their technique with a unique, science-backed approach.
Lena offers private sessions, zoom calls, group classes, workshops and corporate retreats for all ages, and whether it is a single session or over the course of a lifetime, her students achieve tremendous life-changing results.
My Work with Future Feldenkrais Teachers
Since I completed my Feldenkrais training, I’ve been working in certified Feldenkrais training courses around the globe, from Israel to Italy, France, Japan and Korea.
During these work trips I enjoy meeting with new Feldenkrais trainees and learn about their culture and interests.
It’s amazing to be able to share a common language with them, that of movement and how we learn through movement.
Dr Moshe Feldenkrais
Dr Moshe Feldenkrais [1904-1984] was a multi-disciplined scientist, engineer and martial arts expert who designed an innovative educational approach to enhance people’s learning abilities.
Dr Feldenkrais based this method on his extensive knowledge in mechanics, physics, anatomy, neurology, physiology and the martial arts.
Born in the Ukraine, he left at the age of 16 for what is now Israel, where he was involved in Jewish self-defence groups. After learning Jujitsu, he devised his own self- defence techniques.
He studied mechanical and electrical engineering in France and worked as an assistant researcher to Nobel Prize winner Jean Frederik Joliot-Curie.
Dr Feldenkrais was chosen by Judo founder Jigaro Kano to open the first Judo club in France.
Due to severe knee injuries, Dr Feldenkrais researched ways to overcome his problems and started teaching his method to others with similar problems. One of his most famous students was Israel’s founder and first Prime Minister David Ben Gurion.
Dr Feldenkrais trained the first Feldenkrais Method practitioners in Israel, then in San Francisco and Amherst in the United States until 1981, three years before he died.
