Hand Holding Knee

This lesson is done lying on the back and lying on the left side. If that side is too difficult to lie on, you can switch to lying on the other side.

As you lie on your side and on the back, you will maintain a constant linkage between the hand and the leg by holding just under the kneecap. This constraint will invite movements in other areas of your body that are not as available to move as the hand and leg.

The effect of the lesson can be felt during the movements on the floor and after you come up to standing. The learning from one side of the body is an important tool in the Feldenkrais lesson, to enhance the brain to notice differences, changes and to initiate transference and learning to the side that was not active.
